The Bookfest Book Fair returns to Cluj-Napoca between June 18- 21, bringing to the public approximately 10,000 volumes, the latest publishing releases and attractive promotional offers.

Now in its 13th edition, the Bookfest Cluj-Napoca Book Fair will take place at the Casino Urban Culture Center in "Simion Bărnuțiu" Central Park and can be visited daily, between 10am and 8pm.

Some of the The most important publishing houses in Romania await Cluj readers with the most appreciated books of the moment, available at promotional prices. Participating publishers announce discounts ranging from 10% to 55% for numerous titles from the offer presented at the fair.

Visitors will have access to a varied selection of books for all ages and reading preferences, from contemporary literature and non-fiction volumes to children's books, educational aids and specialized publications.

Among the exhibitors present at this edition are: ARI Publishing House, Grupul Editorial Art, Cuantic, Grupul Editorial Corint, Gama, Gemstone Books, Humanitas and Humanitas Fiction Publishing Houses, Junimea Publishing House, Grupul Editorial Litera, Napoca Star, Niculescu - Oxford University Press Publishing House and Polirom Publishing House.

Book launches and meetings with established authors

This year's edition of the Bookfest Cluj-Napoca Book Fair also proposes a series of events editorials dedicated to the book-loving public, bringing together authors, publishers, literary critics and cultural figures.

Friday, June 19, from 18:00, the Junimea publishing house is organizing a meeting with readers, with the guest academician Ioan-Aurel Pop. He will hold a microconference starting from the volume Moldova medievală văză dinspre Transilvania, published in the collection "Historia magistra vitae". The same event will also feature the novel The War Without a Century by David Seko, a volume awarded the COPYRO National Debut Award and the Debut Award – Prose of the Romanian Writers' Union in 2025. The presentations will be given by Ovidiu Pecican, and the host of the meeting will be Simona Modreanu.

On Saturday, June 20, starting at 1:00 p.m., the Quantic publishing house will bring Olivia Mândruțiu-Rusu to the public, who will present both printed editions and audiobooks of the representative volumes of her creation, which make up the Cathar Trilogy, namely: Beech Trees and Shelves, The Emerald Ring and The Woman with the Blue Hat. The event will be attended by the author, the editor Hadrian Mateescu and the writer Ovidiu Pecican.

The Junimea publishing house program continues from 2:00 PM, with the launch of the author's series Marin Tarangul from the "Integrum collection, which brings together three volumes of studies and essays dedicated to theology and spirituality, literature and traditional culture, and art history and aesthetics. The same event will also present the volumes Suspending Gravity by Hellmut Seiler, How to Listen to Rachmaninov by Codruța Vancea, Without a Facebook Account by Vasile Nedelciu and Selected Reports by Bogdan Lupescu. Ion Pop, Lucian Scurtu, Ion Cristofor, Cătălin Chirilă and Ciprian Butnaru will speak, and the host will be Simona Modreanu.

The last launch of the day will start at 4:00 PM, when the novel Acolo donde cicutane nu se sănătoare nicum by Jesus de Cerro will be presented, a novel published in the collection "Narratio" by Junimea Publishing House. The event has as special guest the actor Pavel Bartoș, the presentation being made by Radu Găină, under the coordination of Simone Modreanu.

Among the most anticipated editorial novelties is "Texistența" by Mircea Cărtărescu, a volume that continues the reflections of one of the most important contemporary Romanian writers on the relationship between life and literature. The book proposes a personal incursion into the universe of creation and writing, exploring how existential experience and the artistic act condition each other.

Among the novelties presented is "Times without Patience" by Gabriela Adameșteanu, one of the most recent volumes signed by one of the most important prose writers of contemporary Romanian literature. The book brings together narrative sequences that complement each other in a complex literary construction, exploring with sensitivity and psychological finesse individual destinies, human relationships and the tensions of a society in continuous transformation.

Bookfest is the most important book fair in Romania and the only event of the publishing industry that has managed to acquire a significant international dimension. The 2026 Bookfest International Book Fair (Bucharest, June 3 - 7, 2026) featured over 150 exhibitors, with the five-day program featuring over 500 events, from launches and debates to interactive events. The Guest of Honor for the 2026 edition was Bulgaria.
