Bookfest International Book Fair announces a spectacular edition in Chisinau
Between September 3 and 7, you can meet the best books and some of the most important personalities of the cultural world in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, during this year's edition of the Bookfest Chișinău International Book Fair, at the Mediacor Center
Tatiana Țîbuleac, Mircea Cărtărescu, Gabriela Adameșteanu, Ionela Hadârcă, Sabina Fati, Ioana Nicolaie, Lilia Calancea, Lavinia Stan, Lidia Bodea, Denisa Comănescu, Radu Paraschivescu, Vlad Zografi, Cristian Preda, Emilian Galaicu-Păun or Vitalie Ciobanu are just some of the cultural personalities you will be able to meet at this edition of #BookfestChișinău.

The Bookfest Chisinau International Book Fair will take place between September 3 and 7, 2025, at the well-known Mediacor center (60 Alexei Mateevici Street) within the Moldova State University. For the fourth consecutive year, the event is held under the honorary High Patronage of the President of Romania, Nicușor-Daniel DAN, and the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia SANDU.
Public entry will be free to all events in the program of this edition, daily between 10:00 and 20:00. Important publishing houses from both Romania and the Republic of Moldova will be present, with books exclusively in Romanian. Cultural personalities from both banks of the Prut will give you additional reasons not to miss participating in this new book celebration: Tatiana Țîbuleac, Ionela Hadârcă, Mircea Cărtărescu, Gabriela Adameșteanu, Radu Paraschivescu, Ioana Nicolaie, Sabina Fati, Vlad Zografi, Cristian Preda, Moni Stănilă, Emilian Galaicu-Păun, Dumitru Crudu, Lilia Calancea, Vitalie Ciobanu, Vаl Butnaru along with many others who will interact with the public on the most exciting topics, during the book launches.
The official Bookfest Chisinau program will be presented on September 1, 2025, at 12:00, in the Senate Hall of the Moldova State University, during the press conference at which the event organizers will be present, for a full question and answer session with media representatives.

The 2025 edition of the Bookfest Chisinau International Book Fair is financed by the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova and enjoys the partnership of the Ministry of Culture of Romania and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova.
The organizers of Bookfest Chisinau are the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, the State University of Moldova, the Publishers' Union of the Republic of Moldova, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova and the Publishers' Association of Romania.

Bookfest is the most important book fair in Romania and the only event of the publishing industry that has managed to acquire a significant international dimension. The 2025 Bookfest International Book Fair (Bucharest, May 28 - June 1, 2025) featured over 170 exhibitors, with the five-day program featuring over 400 events, from launches and debates to film screenings and interactive events. The guest of honor for the 2025 edition was Portugal. In previous international editions, the invited countries were: Spain, Hungary, France, German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), Poland, the Czech Republic, Israel, Sweden, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy and the Republic of Moldova.
The Bookfest Book Fair has local editions in Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Mureș, Brașov and international editions in Bucharest and Chișinău.
