Already celebrating its fifth edition, "Bookfest International Book Fair of Bucharest" will be held between the 9th and the 13th of June 2010, in Halls 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 at ROMEXPO Exhibitions Centre . During these five years, "Bookfest" has managed to become one of the most important cultural actions by providing an important link between writers and their readers. The Romanian Publishers' Association, in its capacity as Organiser has decided to once again give free admission to all the visitors.
For the first time, "Bookfest" will have a country as special guest - Spain, thus wishing to establish a tradition of a more extensive international presence in Hall 13. Having invited Spain, this year, means acknowledging the value of its literary and artistic works, the numerous translations of Spanish classic and contemporary authors published in Romania, as well as the ever increasing number of Romanian authors published in Spain.
At a glance: Ten Spanish Literati - six novelists, two playwrights and two translators, together with their Romanian colleagues, will participate to various round table debates during the Book Fair.
On Wednesday evening, June 9th, the series of musical shows presented to the visiting public will open with a concert of Spanish flamenco music - guitar and percussion. On Thursday and Friday around lunch time, the Romanian actor Marian Ralea will perform interactive reading sessions of Spanish fairy tales, for children.
